App Smackdown Project - ZipRecruiter

ZipRecruiter is an app that anybody can use to help them find a job for a career or a part-time job when they need extra money. For this project, I went through how to build a profile and make it unique to help someone stick out from others for employers looking for someone to hire. ZipRecruiter also makes it easier to apply to jobs you are looking for to make applying for jobs a little less stressful than it can be. The messaging feature of the app, it makes the hiring process seem a little more personal where you are actually talking to someone about your hiring and making sure that you know everything before going in on your first day.

ZipRecruiter has over 110 million people using their services to help them get the job that they are looking for. The app itself is constantly changing to help make the process of getting hired easier and more efficient. Being able to link social media to a person's profile is very beneficial because it allows an employer to be able to see what this person is like in the outside world. People will be able to use this during their Stockton days for getting a part-time job to help them make some money in between classes and will help them in their future by being able to apply to their career job.

  1. Zack I have been hearing good things from Zip Recruiter in general in terms of how relevant it is. I was surprised to find out that this social network is the most popular in the US since other sites like Indeed and LinkedIn are pretty popular as well. My question is do you think Zip Recruiter is user and applicant friendly? I mean can anyone get a job there without meeting the specified requirement like the other previously mentioned sites do.

  2. I have never heard of the Ziprecruiter app before, but from your presentation I have learned a lot about how it can be useful in finding a job. I found the messaging tool especially useful, because as you said it seems to make the hiring process more personal. Having the ability to have a conversation with potential employers is a unique tool that can make the process much easier. Do you think that Ziprecruiter is more useful in the job search process than bigger companies, such as Linkedin and Indeed?

  3. Hi Zack! This is the first time I heard about the Zip Recruiter app. I like how you walked us through the steps of creating a profile and the tips on how to "stick out" from all the other people. The message feature is something I wished more of the social networks could implement. As you said it is more personal and if you have any questions you can refer them to someone immediately.

  4. I have heard of this apps name before but never have truly understood what it entails. To me, this app is similar to LinkedIn and Indeed as it benefits individuals looking for job opportunities. I liked how you mentioned how job searching can be stressful and ZipRecruiter tries to avoid that additional stress.

  5. Hey Zack, found this incredibly helpful as I will most likely try to use it for future employments. I like how not only do you get a walk through with how the application works, but also how detailed the application is as to compare it with other employment applications such as LinkedIn and Indeed. I also like how it can cross connect with LinkedIn as well as being able to be more personal and message future employers.

  9. Hello Zack, I have tried using ZipRecruiter and found it completely confusing. I am shocked that it is doing better than other websites such as Indeed. Personally I felt that Indeed is more user friendly.

  11. Hi Zack. Again thank you for sharing this app with us. I had never heard of it before and found it to be a very interesting and helpful tool. I recently read more about this app and found out that some people have a hard time posting their jobs in more details and that the fees were sometimes very confusing. I wonder if you ran into this issue yourself as well?

  14. Zack there was a couple things that caught my attention instantly the fact that it is the most popular is interesting. I also like that Ziprecruiter has that featuring of emailing/chatting with people becuase indeed has taken that feature away on their app. You can get a message from a company but you cant message them back.

  15. Its interesting that ziprecruiter is the number one job search app because the last time I went looking for a new job i made one and an indeed and it felt more like spam while indeed felt like it wast actually helping me find a job. Either way it was still interesting to learn about in your smackdown.

Zack honestly, I really like your presentation and the summary that you spoke about ZipRecruiter other than indeed I truly like this feature of the app and I don’t understand why not a lot of people use this one to look for jobs I think it’s just as good as indeed, but other than that great job on the presentation
